Hormonal problems that women face can be quite debilitating at times. There have been various instances of women having either too much or too little menstrual flow that causes all sorts of problems that are both physical as well as emotional.
In order to understand how and why these problems occur in a woman it is necessary to understand the body mechanism of a female, in the first place. The hormonal levels in a female are controlled by the pituitary gland which is found at the base of the skull, the hypothalamus which is part of the brain and the ovaries which are in the stomach. These hormones govern not just the menstrual cycle but a whole lot of other things like growth, existence of body hair and also the sexual drive of the female.
Hormones are supposed to be secreted in a specific pattern to ensure that all body functions are performed in time. What happens in some cases is that the body undergoes some changes because the hormones are not secreted in the right quantity or at the right time. Just imagine what the crest and the trough would be like. Hormones are supposed to be secreted like that, sometimes more and sometimes less. If the person is suffering with a hormonal imbalance there will be no equal crest and trough. Either the crest is too high or the trough is too deep. Either way it results in a problem.
Some of the outcomes of hormonal problems are irregular menstrual bleeding. Normally, a female menstruates once in twenty eight days. With a hormonal imbalance this does not happen. Either the cycle occurs once in forty days or sometimes, even more. When the cycle does occur the bleeding could be either profuse or scanty. What is even more unbearable is the fact that the woman is not aware of when and for how long the cycle is going to last. This is a problem that many women face today.
The emotional and mental problems faced because of hormonal imbalances, are just as bad if not worse than the physical ones. To begin with there is a huge loss of confidence that can effect the pace and quality of their performance in the workplace and also at home. It is common to find women very irritable and not their usual jolly selves. They look and behave totally stressed out and are not able to cope with simple problems that may crop up at home. You will also find that they are rude, something that they never have been till now. It is quite possible that these women are victims of hormonal imbalances and really don’t know how to cope with the problem in a proper way.
What women need at this point is a lot of care and understanding. It would be good for the woman herself to visit her doctor and find out what the problem really is and at what level it exists. If she is able to do so, she will be in a better position to handle the situation she is in, without being unnecessarily upset and angry at all and sundry, for nothing.
