An athlete knows exactly the importance of leg muscles in his performance. Calves muscle play a significant role in generating power and speed to a sprint or race, so Calf raise are surely not to miss in a training schedule. Holding the weight of calf muscles against gravity is a sure way to strengthen and develop speed to leg movements. These can be done in seated or standing fashion. Professional athletes would like to do calf raises even with single leg.
Another effective and exclusive leg exercise is Interval Sprints, also known as SIT or Short sprint interval training. It involves hard training and should be done independently when you are not planning to do no other leg workout. Remember to take break or rest during sprint training.
